Sunday School & Worship
Our adult Sunday School classes cover a number of topics throughout the year. Marriage and parenting classes, classes on doctrine, and biblical book studies have all been a part of the Sunday School experience. At times, we have home Bible studies and have covered topics such as “Thirty-Three Things That Happen at the Moment of Salvation” and “The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus.” Throughout the year we also have various men’s Bible studies.
Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings, with Worship Service following at 10:30 am in the main auditorium. During the worship service, toddlers are cared for in the nurseries and elementary-aged children participate in Junior Church in the lower church level.
At 6 pm on Sunday evenings, we hold an informal Evening Service and Prayer Meeting.
Nurseries are open for infants during all services.
Prayer Teams
Prayer teams are a Sunday morning ministry at First Baptist Church. Each team, of two men or two women, assigned on a rotating schedule, meet with our Prayer Leader prior to the morning worship service.
Prayers are lifted for the preaching and the hearing of God’s Word, that hearts and minds would be open to the working of the Holy Spirit, that needs would be met and needed decisions would be made. God’s Word encourages us as Christians to fill our lives with prayer (1 Thess 5:17; Luke 18:1; Acts 1:14; 1 Tim 2:1; 1 Peter 3:12; Rev 5:8; etc.). This is but one of the opportunities we have to fulfill these Biblical commands with our church family.
Men’s Prayer Breakfasts
Our men meet bi-monthly to enjoy a delicious breakfast along with a devotional time from God’s Word. It’s also a time of sharing prayer requests and blessings. Call the church for details and meeting times.
Women: Secret Sisters
The women of First Baptist Church enjoy sharing “Secret Sisters” throughout the year. These “sisters” secretly give gifts, on birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, other holidays and special days, along with praying daily for one’s current “Secret Sister.” At the ladies’ meeting in March, “sisters” are revealed, with a final gift, and new “Secret Sisters” are selected.
Women: Kitchen Teams
The ladies of First Baptist Church volunteer to participate on Kitchen Teams, which serve at church functions as needed, on a rotating basis. Each of the three teams is notified via email or church mailbox regarding each assignment. Each participant then notifies her team captain about her availability for the areas of setup, serving, and cleanup. It is a wonderful blessing to serve our church family and guests in this capacity, with willing hearts and working hands!!
