Some of our yearly Special Events are described below.
Chili Cook-Off
Held in January, this event allows members and guests to hear a gospel message and we find out who takes the trophy for cooking the best chili!
Wild Game Dinner
This popular event includes an enticing meal offering a variety of entrees provided by a wild game cuisine company (“regular” choices are also available!) as well as a gospel presentation focused on outdoor sports enthusiasts.
Summer Bible Adventure
Held in the summer, this program packs exciting games, skits, and assembly times into four fun-filled evenings for children from pre-school through sixth grade.
July 4th Picnic
Our all-church picnic involves most activities that make up an all-American 4th of July – food, fun, and fellowship.
Cedar Point (Teens)
The FBC teens (and several brave adults!) make an August visit to this ever popular amusement park.
Annual Corn Boil
In the fall, when the harvest is ready and while the weather still permits, we hold an outdoor potluck picnic on the church grounds, to enjoy the blessings of God’s bounty, especially the local corn crop.
Sunday Fellowship Dinners
Following the morning worship service, the church family and their guests enjoy a wonderful potluck dinner and relaxing fellowship. It’s with enthusiastic pride that we declare the cooks at First Baptist Church are among some of the best in the county!!
Missionary Christmas
In November, we have a missionary guest speaker at our all church Christmas dinner, where we take a special offering toward Christmas gifts for our supported missionaries.
Christmas/Easter Dramas
The talented and entertaining First Baptist Church drama team, under the direction of Pastor Russ, presents original dramas (written by our very own published author, Pastor Reemtsma) during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
